Job Title: Library Assistant
Location: Webster Library — Kingfield, Maine
Employment Type: Part-time
Compensation: $18/hr
Hours: Saturdays 10 am-12 pm, with the possibility of additional hours
About Us:
As a collaborative community partner, Webster Library welcomes and supports all people by providing library materials, resources, and programming to encourage lifelong learning.
Role Overview:
Webster Library seeks a part-time Library Assistant to operate the library on Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Open, close, and operate library on Saturday mornings
Check library materials in and out, re-shelve materials as needed
Assist patrons with library services as needed
Supervise any regularly scheduled Saturday morning library programming
Qualifications & Skills:
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and reliable with a love of literature and strong customer service skills. Basic computer skills are required, as well as a willingness to learn our integrated library systems software (LibraryWorld). Ability to work on Saturdays is essential. This position would be perfect for a community-oriented person looking for a bit of supplemental income and an opportunity for civic engagement. High school diploma or GED required.

Webster Library is a free public library serving Kingfield, Maine and the surrounding communities. Our lending library includes books for children and adults, DVDs, audio books, magazines, and board games. Technology services include: 24-hour public Wifi access, patron-use laptops, and printing and photocopying. We also offer a wide range of programming for children and adults, including regular monthly story hours, workshops and craft times, author visits and arts events, and an annual summer reading program.
